Paragraph

Joshi house is an exploration of restraint, precision, and mindful living; designed within a compact 7 m × 7 m footprint to optimize minimal land while offering a complete, self-contained dwelling for a single individual. The architecture responds directly to the idea that form must emerge from necessity, where every square meter is purposeful and deeply experiential.

The house is organized as an L-shaped plan, wrapping itself around a central courtyard that becomes the nuclei of the home. This courtyard acts as a protective layer filtering light, air, and privacy while ensuring all primary spaces remain inward-looking and serene. Carefully oriented openings allow abundant natural light to permeate the interiors.
Spatially, the house unfolds vertically. The basement, carved within the same footprint, is conceived as a secluded meditation hall silent, grounded, and introspective providing the ideal environment for spiritual practice. The ground floor accommodates the living space, bedroom, puja area, and essential amenities, while the top floor houses the kitchen, elevated to engage with light, views, and movement.
