The goal was to design a cost-effective, visually refined trace detector for airport use-portable, compact, and equipped with a handle for easy mobility. Previously imported from the US and China, this initiative aimed to create a proudly Made-in-India alternative. Our focus was to deliver a product that met international design standards, showcasing Indian innovation through a form that is both functional and globally competitive in its aesthetic appeal. Constrained by strict internal engineering parameters, the form was resolved as a soft, boxy silhouette-clean and purposeful. The front is visually divided into a central mass with two side panels, creating balance and clarity. A neutral dual-tone palette of black and white ensures the product blends seamlessly into its environment. Constructed entirely in 2mm aluminum sheet metal, with select internal components in stainless steel, the design integrates discreet handles for portability.
